The Culture

The best thing about working at Portland Design Works is:

Because we are a small company, each individual has the ability to make a large impact and is an absolutely essential team member. At PDW you can be yourself. From the casual dress code to the open channel of communication, it's a great place to spend your week. We are also a company that gives back to an array of non-profit organizations so it is easy to feel good about being a part of our brand. We regularly make monetary and in-kind donations to organizations supporting the environment, community cycling organizations who uplift underprivileged communities and youth through cycling, human rights organizations, and even animal rescue organizations.

When we’re not working, we’re:

Riding bikes, running, cooking, playing hockey, hanging out with our family and animals.

What we’re reading:

Almanac of the Dead, Ayoade On Top, The Topeka Years, The Master and Margarita

What we’re listening to:

Beyonce: Lemonade, FRKSE: Desecration Anxiety II, Waxahatchee: Saint Cloud, Purple Mountains: Purple Mountains

If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:

Summer Fridays!

Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:

Everyone deserves a place in the outdoors. Outdoor activities connect us with the environment and improve our mental and physical health. The more diversity within the outdoor industry the more diversity there will be in the outdoors. The more diverse the outdoors community gets, the more safe and welcoming it becomes for people of all walks of life to enjoy.

Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:

A whole lot more people are using bikes for transportation.
