The Culture

The best thing about working at roam is:

Finding Adventures with Purpose around the world and bringing those stories back to inspire people to get outside their comfort zone and live a more adventurous life.

When we’re not working, we’re:

Climbing, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, taking photos, making art.

What we’re reading:

The Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle / White Fragility – Robin Deangelo / Ishmael – Daniel Quinn

What we’re listening to:

The Daily Podcast / Goth Babe / Miles Davis /Sade

If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:

The Road Less Travelled

Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:

A more inclusive, more diverse, more equal outdoor industry is a more interesting, more creative, more flexible and innovative industry. Creating more opportunity for underrepresented communities to access the outdoors and feeling the love, healing, wonder and peace that comes with spending time in nature and the wilderness is matters because it creates another authentic and common ground place for diverse people to connect with one another, understand one another, laugh with one another, play with one another – and feel part of the one race, the human race, that we all feel a part of when we’re staring at the stars.

Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:

That ROAM can be a a major force in the adventure space, Inspiring with Original content, Educating through ROAM Academy, and Activation through ROAM Adventures. And that in all of those aspects of our business plan, that ROAM can be a  leader in continuing the consistent planning and implementation of “JEDI”. Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion practice and action. That our network, staff and leadership is representative of our current long term plan for diversity and that our company and community will be that much stronger, credible and visionary for it.
