The Culture
The best thing about working here is:
Living and working in a place where nature and culture merge and beauty is everywhere. The “YES” culture that allows us to innovate with evolving best practices that support youth and their needs for growing in a society where it is critical to connect with natural and human communities thoughtfully
When we’re not working, we’re:
PLAYING...HARD, being “Nature Nerds,” having dance parties on the trail and in the office, dreaming big, exploring, and playing ukuleles.
What we’re reading:
Everybody Needs A Rock by Byrd Baylor; The Naturalist’s Guide to the Southern Rockies by Audrey DeLella Benedict; An Indigenous People's History of the United States and Continental Divide: Wildlife, People and the Border Wall by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz; Vitamin N: The Essential Guide to a Nature-Rich Life by Richard Louv
What we’re listening to:
Ana Tijoux, PO.10.Cee, Nitty Scott, Shakira, Trampled By Turtles
If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:
“When worlds collide and collaborate: IN A FUN WAY” or “Get out and stay out!”
Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:
Everybody needs to love, appreciate, understand, and live within these spaces to have a healthy, balanced, and just ecosystem.
Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:
EVERY young person in our region will be OUTSIDE with us and that local educators, organizers, and families will be ready and able to be out there with them.
