ABOUT ALL HANDS ECOLOGY

Martin Griffin Preserve encompasses 1,000 acres in West Marin, protected from development since 1962 as a wildlife sanctuary.

Mixed evergreen forests blanket slopes overlooking the Bolinas Lagoon. Open hillsides support grasslands and coastal scrub, while freshwater habitats nestle in canyon floors. The preserve is home to more than 25 species of mammals, over 90 species of landbirds, 13 species of reptiles, and 8 species of amphibians.

The preserve’s frontage along Bolinas Lagoon brings more than 60 species of waterbirds and shorebirds into view—from sandpipers to osprey to pelicans—as well as some of the resident harbor seals.

MISSION

The Women, Nature and Joy summit is for joy enthusiasts—women who have made the outdoors their playgrounds, workplaces, and careers. Through conversation and celebration, we will embrace nature’s abundant offering of solitude, serenity, and joy together.
